FALL IS IN THE AIR

I love the crisp smell of the air just before the official first day of Fall, along with the colors of the Season. I wish Fall would last a little longer. Here in Southern California, we don’t experience much of Fall, so I try to soak it all in for as long as I can.

There is so much to look forward to as we make this turn from Summer to Fall and from SIP to FAL (free at last)! I’m SO excited go to a restaurant for lunch or dinner with family and friends, I’m also ready to go shopping and can’t wait to go to a movie (ok so that might be a while longer), But the absolute icing on the cake, and by far the most exciting business to open up is my hair salon!! Let’s just hope they don’t get closed down again.

We had so much fun making these cards featuring the Flowers for all Seasons suite, the In Good Taste Suite and one of my all time favorites, Daisy Lane and of course Boho Indigo. I love Boho Indigo so much, we’re using it again this month. We really did have a fun time at the workshop. Check out the details for September’s workshop. Don’t miss out.

I really love this Boho Indigo Suite. Using it with this fun fold card makes for a great card.

What a simple card, yet so catchy. I used the Subtle embossing folder with early espresso to create the background. I learned it from Amy Combs. It’s so cool looking.

I love love love this In Good Taste Suite!. The DSP is so amazing.

What can I say about sunflowers? I love them because just like the name they bring sunshine into the room. That’s what this card does. It’s made with the Flowers for Every Season Suite

It’s hard to believe it’s almost the middle of July! Wow, that sure went fast. Some of you might be thinking that time is standing still because of all the changes going on with Covid-19. I hope you’ve all been staying healthy and have kept a good attitude through all of it. I know it isn’t easy to do during a difficult time.

I want to add a little fun to your weekends by offering a workshop once a month. Also, by the end of July I will be having some online classes via Zoom and FB Live. I’d like your ideas on what you’d like to see in my videos. For example, card ideas, how to use tools, stamping hacks etc. Let me know what you think by leaving a comment below. You will be notified ahead of time when I will be going live. Make sure you register for the classes so I can send you a link for Zoom. For the FB live classes you must “Like” my page Annabelle’s Stamping Studio, and allow notifications from me when I go live.

Here are the cards we made a the last workshop using 3 of my favorite Bundles. Peony Garden Suite (pg. 82-84- AC), Whale of a time Suite (pg. 94-96 AC) and Flowers for Every Season (pg. 10-12 AC). All these suites have items that are “must haves” for every stamper and paper crafter. Here’s are just a few ideas made with these suites, that I think you will love.

The New 2020-2021 Catalog Is Out!

Can it be true? Yes, it’s true! we can finally start inching out a little bit and enjoy ourselves in the beautiful sunshine. While we’re not completely out of the woods yet, the Coronavirus (COVID-19) is finally under a good control and very few new cases have been added since mid March. If all of us continue doing our part, we will be continuing to help control the virus. It definitely hit some harder than others, but hard nonetheless.

We’ve changed the way we do things all the way from the way we eat, shop, work, play, dress, socialize and entertain ourselves. We went from eating out, to cooking at home (my son learned how to use an InstaPot), shopping the malls to shopping online, working in the office to woking at home, going to movie theaters to streaming movies online. We’ve gone from going to sports to watching old games online, we’ve gone from gathering in large crowds like weddings (my son’s wedding postponed until next summer) funerals, parties, graduations to drive by celebrations and we’ve added a new fashion statement to our wardrobe, the “Mask”. Instead of asking what are you wearing tonight, we’re going to ask which mask are you wearing with your new dress?”

How has all this changed your life? Each one of us has our story albeit happy, sad, or everything in between. All I can say is I’m still here supporting you, helping to keep you up to date with your very special hobby and love of paper crafting. There has never been a better time than now that we can all use receiving a special card in the mail or send a beautiful card to a loved one that we haven’t been able to see for 3 months. I’m sure that each one of us has someone in our lives that will be quarantined much longer than the average person. Let’s show them some love, the elderly and more mature. Let’s take advantage of this “down” time to create beautiful projects and not let our minds remain idle, but to use them to create good and send love. Take the time to send someone you love something from the heart that can never be taken from them, a paper hug and a written note of love, inspiration and hope. We’re almost done, just a little longer and we’ll all be stronger.

2020-2021 Annual Catalog

Isn’t she lovely? Isn’t she beautiful? Of course I’m referring to the new 2020-2021 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog. If you haven’t gotten your copy, let me know and I’ll get one to you right away. I never know where to start when looking at it. Do I start in the back and go toward the front? Do I start in the front and move to the back? Do I start in the middle and go to the front, then go back to the middle and go toward the back? I bet you thought there was just one way, right? Well, leave it to me to mix it up a bit!

I’m going to just put it out there right here and now that I’m completely in LOVE with the Peony Garden Suite. I’ve always loved Peonies. I love my family’s Thanksgiving tradition. For about the past 40 years we’ve been going to Santa Maria to spend Thanksgiving with my sister and her family. It’s so awesome to see how although the tradition has stayed the same, things have changed a bit because of things changing in our family dynamic. While we used to have dinner at my sister’s house in Santa Maria, we now go to San Luis Obispo to have our dinner at her daughter’s house. She’s grown and has children of her own and she now carries on the tradition that her mom and dad started so long ago. My sweet mamma moved to Santa Maria 15 years ago so our time is extra special during Thanksgiving. We always have so much fun. I can’t wait to go up every year.

On Saturday December 1, I had my very first Paper Pumpkin workshop. It was a lot like our Paper Pumpkin Club but different on several levels. First the Hostess Darshana Patel received all the Hostess Benefits, as she hosted it in her home and provided all the food, friends, family and fun. Each person had their own Paper Pumpkin kit to work on. It was so much fun seeing everyone’s personality coming out in each of their creations. We had door prizes and amazing food and snacks and had an amazing time. Darshana had such a wonderful time that we’ve already booked it for the first Saturday in December from here on out. It really put us on in the Holiday spirit!

Wow how this past month has flown by. Every year in January the month seems to go by rather slowly for me. I know it’s a long month and all, but the minute the end of the January rolls around, all of a sudden it’s March! Where does February go? Once Valentine’s Day is over it seems like time just picks up speed and doesn’t stop! Here it is already almost the middle of March, well not really but by the time the next workshop comes around it will be past the middle of March.

I want to personally invite you to join us as we gather together and start to make our Spring cards, Easter Cards and get a head start on ideas for Mother’s Day cards.

Join us for our very first Paper Pumpkin Club meeting this Thursday March 1. Below are all the details so don’t miss out on time to get some serious stamping and paper crafting done.

You DO NOT have to be a Paper Pumpkin subscriber to attend. It is an open stamping, paper crafting time to gather together with friends and have a great time while getting some serious work done. Did you know that Annabelle’s Stamping Studio is starting a Paper Pumpkin Crafting Club? Our first club meeting will be held on Thursday March 1 from 5:00 until 9:00. At the first club meeting we will decide how much fun we’re having and see if we need to adjust the hours and format. You can always stay later if you’d like.

It’s a monthly subscription box for people who want to make beautiful customized handmade stamped projects for their everyday needs and want to be ready for any occasion. Each month you receive a kit with everything you need to make the beautiful project for that month. The projects are perfectly designed, color coordinated, die cut and ready to assemble. You get a coordinating stamp set, ink, clear acrylic block adhesive, ribbon and embellishments to make the perfect project. All the work is taken out of the mix so that you can skip to the creativity fun! Usually the kit contains 8-12 cards and/or projects with envelopes ready to be sent out as soon as you’re done. The only thing you need are scissors. If you’re a creative crafter and one who thinks outside the box, you don’t have to follow the instructions, you can make up your own projects with the contents of the kit. How cool is that?

When you’re all done making your projects you’ll have your stamp set, acrylic block, ink pads and other items to help you build up your crafting supplies.

Paper Pumpkin – August Giftable Greetings Refill

I’m sure all of you have been enjoying this month’s Paper Pumpkin kit. There are a couple of reasons I love the August kit. First, the kit comes with a beautiful giftable box for the cards and beautiful Calypso Coral ribbon to tie around it. What a great idea! Second, I love that Stampin’ Up! has made the refill kit available for only $8. That comes out to about $1.15 per card including the box.

If attached some samples below that I’ve made from the kit. A couple of them are made the way the kit is designed and a couple of them I’ve changed up a little bit. I’ve added some ribbon and used some extra flowers on the “Thanks” card.

I added ribbon and rhinestones to the Thanks card to give it a little
different look. I also added extra flowers to it.

October 2016 Paper Pumpkin Alternatives

It’s was so easy to create this simple and clean line alternative to October 2016’s Paper Pumpkin. Sometimes less is more

Here’s another example of an alternative card using some ink with daubers to color the leaves and give it a geometric feel. I made good use of the negative pieces to create something very light and airy as the leaves themselves.

Here is the original October 2016 Paper Pumpkin kit with a card made as the instructions stated. I love it as well but I had to try and think outside the “Red/Orange box” if you know what I mean. I love the sequins in this shaker card. They are 3 different sizes. Who doesn’t love a shaker card?
