ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL WORKSHOP!

What a fun time we had at the Fall into Fall workshop on Saturday. We made 6 projects, had lunch, met new friends, connected with some old friends and made some adorable projects. It was a win win…… We used the most versatile sets all of which, except one, have come from the new Holiday Catalog. We used some really cool embellishments and color combinations.  I think you’ll love them as much as we loved making them. Take a look at our finished cards and projects below:

PAINTED AUTUMN SUITE
(Off the Rails a bit)

It’s fun to go off the rails a little like we did with the blue sunflower “I’m Thankful for You” card.  I cased the idea from Carol Read on Pinterest. I’m just loving the beautiful gingham Night of Navy ribbon that makes the card pop.  It looks like it was a little difficult to make, but it was really easy.  I love how the light blue and the dark blue colors give the sunflowers so much dimension.  We actually made our own DSP and decided ourselves what type of leaves, out of the set we wanted to use. I think it’s striking and elegant in a way.

PAINTED AUTUMN SUITE
(Traditional)

I want to thank Amy Combs for the idea for this really simple traditional sunflower card. I saw how beautiful her card was and I decided to take the idea and change things up a bit.  The burlap ribbon is fun to work with, but just an FYI, it’s on back order until mid October, but if you want it, go ahead and order it an you’ll be one of the first to get it when it comes back in stock.  I’m loving the Painted Autumn Suite because it’s so versatile and so is the Painted Autumn DSP.  Note that this is the same set I used on the blue card above but the idea that Amy cut the sunflowers out of the 12 x 12 sheet and then fussy cut around them is such a genius. I didn’t think I would ever enjoy fussy cutting again, but actually it was kind of fun. I think the Metallic Enamel Shapes add the perfect touch.  What do you think?

SPOOKY NIGHT SUITE
(Card and Mini Treat Box)
Each year I look forward to seeing the new designs that Stampin’ Up! comes up for the Holidays.  Their ideas are always awesome, and this year is no exception.  Look at this adorable owl perched in the tree. This particular DSP sheet is made to have you cut out the 3″ x 3″ tree squares. The owl fits perfectly in the tree with her adorable hat (also cut from the DSP)  Another cool idea, turn the tree 1/4 turn clockwise, and you’ll be able to punch a black cat out with the Cat Punch and put it in the tree. You gotta love the Cat Punch!  And how cute are the Tiny Treat Boxes? They’re just the right size for a little treat.  They’re super easy to decorate and fun to receive. There’s the Cat Punch! Ha I just love her bedazzled choker.  I used the Vintage Crochet Trim and the rhinestone accents to make her choker. I think she’s super cute.  Used DSP as the belly band for the box and you’re done.  I’d say the Spooky Night Suite is a huge hit this year.

I had to include some glitz and shine to the projects for this workshop.  I fell in love with this gorgeous Year of Cheer Suite. It works for a whole lot of occasions. It’s wintery enough for Christmas, glitzy enough for ringing in the New Year, and elegant enough for beautiful  wedding projects.  In this project I decided to simply go with a “For You” card to show that you can also make a general greeting card. It’s clean and simple but yet has a real wow factor to it.  I used “Vertical Greetings” for the words and that snowflake is just so pretty. I don’t think you can add too much bling to the card.  It just keeps shining!  P.S. I’m going to have to work on taking a good shiny sparkly picture with my iPhone.  The picture does not do this card justice.

WHOLE LOT OF LOVELY SUITE

This card is really “A Whole Lot of Lovely” isn’t it?  It’s made with the Whole Lot of Lovely Suite featured in our Annual Catalog on page 86-87. The colors are striking yet soft and the Dynamic Leaves TIEF (embossing folder) is so cool.  To get the gorgeous deep embossed look on the card, first spray the card with a light mist of water, then run it through the Big Shot. You can see how deep the leaves are embossed into the paper. Such a beautiful result and such an easy technique.  Gotta have it!  Thank you Janet for designing such a beautiful “Thinking of You” card.

MUST HAVE (one time purchase) PRODUCTS

I wanted to list the following non-consumable products (used in these projects) separately so that you can know that once you purchase the following products you can use them on all your projects and they’re all a “one time purchase”.

CAN’T MAKE IT TO THE WORKSHOPS?

Do you love the projects we make each month at my workshops? Do you work on weekends, or have other commitments that prevent you from attending?

Well I have the perfect solution for you. You can now purchase the projects that we make each month and make them on your own at your own leisure. I started this option a couple of months ago (unofficially) because each month I had some requests for the projects because they couldn’t make it to the workshop.

If you let me know by Thursday before the workshop you can order your packets.  You will receive all the materials we use at the workshop pre-prepped and ready to be put together. The cost for the materials pack is $15*.  No more FOMO! (Fear of missing out) except I can’t package all the fun we will have at the workshop and of course the awesome lunch and door prizes!

* For kit based workshops the price will vary depending on the cost of the kit
